home is a three-day convening (November 7–9) organized by Coles House Project. It invites collective dialogue around preservation, conservation, restoration, rehabilitation, and reuse — specifically in relation to design justice. It reimagines the historic Coles House and Studio with a new life as a vital community center. We will ground the gathering around Black spaces, oral histories of the Hamlin Park neighborhood, and community-engaged design.

The convening will include walking tours to historical sites, discussions, and community-centered storytelling. home foregrounds the community voice in building and bridging physical places. It asks: How does the Coles House Project work with the community to move forward with intention? How can design and architecture be rooted in care, equity, and community practice?
